Tales From The Teahouse (2020)

The tales in this book are tales that I have told many times. They are from a repertoire of over 400 stories that I have gathered in my time as a storyteller. They have been told and retold over thousands of years by countless other storytellers from so many different countries that it is almost impossible to say with any certainty where they began their travels. Which means that they have no one single author rather they have had many interpreters. Each one of whom, by transcribing and paraphrasing the tales using their unique style has recast them for a particular audience or situation and thereby kept them alive. And relevant.

Clay Tree Bird (2020)

This is a collection of seven stories and seven fragmented poems. They were all written during spring, summer and autumn of 2020, a period of time in which, when the future looks back, will be referred to by a name that has yet to be decided. The words in this collection were not written as a result of this period, but they were undoubtedly affected by it. All of the words were written under the influence of freshly foraged wild herbs, hot water and honey.

This book was written whilst living on a sandbank/island in the Baltic Sea. Mostly alone and without either electricity or water coming out of sockets or taps I looked after the island and its birds. I spent my time writing short stories and poetry wandering around the deserted island with camera in my hand. In between times I travelled to Wales to care for an aged parent. All of those times were well spent.
